My aim on this site is to not specifically “show and tell” about my ceramic work but to share my clay finds in my travels. I started my ceramic journey approx 25 yrs ago. My attraction was then & still is the elements of the earth & nature that you become as one with to be able to make a humble vessel, which can be used in our day to day existence. The processes of wedging (preparing) the clay, forming a vessel by hand or using the potters wheel & then the waiting for the unknown delights of the finished piece after firing up the kiln. This art form is not for the impatient, it's a process that has many a experienced & new potter opening the kiln door, with breath held, hoping for that special 'peice' My ceramic journey is taking a new path, a path back in history to when the potter was a part of the everyday community as was the silversmith, baker & blacksmith. A history that the historians & archaeologists of today rely on to help map out these communities of our past.
